Lisa Wood was raised on PBS and public radio. Voted Seattle Times “People’s Choice Favorite Radio DJ” in 2004, she comes to OPB with over 20 years of experience as a broadcaster, journalist, writer, editor, producer, and podcaster.

Before joining OPB, she was a traffic and news reporter, a host at KEXP, and founder of the local music show, “Viva La Luna” at KUFO in Portland. At OPB she holds the role of Announcer, fill-in Host, and Programming Coordinator. She grew up in the Northwest, has interviewed people from all walks of life, and emceed countless events. She once saw Peter Sagal on the street and asked for a picture. He was amazed that she knew who he was and celebrated her “NPR geekery” in a write up of his Portland visit.

Fun fact: her grandpa is one of the bass players at the wedding in The Godfather.
