The Portland Trail Blazers acquired three players in Thursday's NBA Draft, a day after making another big trade. But the fate of a pending free agent threatens to overshadow those moves.
The Blazers traded away two players and added five new ones this week. But as the draft ended, general manager Neil Olshey confronted reports that All-Star LaMarcus Aldridge planned to leave the team this summer.

"I spoke with LaMarcus," Olshey said. "I actually asked him 'look, how would you like me to address it?', and he said 'just say it's not true'."
Olshey said he couldn't say much more about it.
"We can not discuss free agency," Olshey said, referring to NBA rules. "We can not express interest. We can't talk about matching offer sheets. We can't do anything."
In separate trades with the Charlotte Hornets and Brooklyn Nets, the Blazers parted ways with veterans Steve Blake and Nicolas Batum.
The Blazers got one veteran back, Gerald Henderson, as well as four players with a combined two years of NBA experience including draft picks Pat Connaughton and Daniel Diez. They also acquired second-year players Mason Plumlee and Noah Vonleh.
Olshey said the team is not finished working to improve for next season.
