Jeremy Christian, the man convicted of stabbing and killing two men and injuring a third on a Portland MAX train in 2017, is now set to be sentenced on June 23.
Christian’s sentencing date has been moved multiple times amid the pandemic, as the Multnomah County Circuit Court has been wrestling with how to socially distance in the courtroom.
The court said Friday that it is still figuring out the logistics for this new sentencing date. Christian’s motions and sentencing hearing are slated to begin at 9 a.m. and last the entire day.
Christian was convicted in February on 12 counts. He could face a prison sentence of life without the possibility of parole.
