Ken Goe covered the series for The Oregonian/Oregon Live.

He said the Beavers are a team that can play to whatever level is needed to win. Goe pointed to freshman pitcher Kevin Able, who pitched a complete game shutout on very little rest, to secure the title.

“A lot of people close to the program think he’s probably as good or better than anybody they have on the team this year, projecting forward,” Goe said.

Goe also gives a lot of credit to longtime OSU Baseball coach Pat Casey.

“He has been there long enough, he can recruit to a philosophy," Goe said. "So he brings in players that will do things his way.”
