The Oregon State Police trooper shot on Christmas remains in critical condition.
On Tuesday afternoon, Trooper Nic Cederberg underwent his second of multiple surgeries, state police said.
Cederberg was shot multiple times around 10:30 p.m. Sunday while he was pursuing a homicide suspect near Sherwood, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Office.

“Right now, we are at the wishes of the family, not getting to details like specifically where he was shot type of trauma. But one thing that I need to note is that this is No. 2 of many surgeries and he has quite a recovery and healing process ahead of him," said Lt. Bill Fugate, a spokesman with Oregon State Police.
Cederberg was transported to Oregon Health and Science University in Portland late Sunday where he’s being treated for his injuries.
After waking from his first surgery Monday morning, Cederberg opened his eyes and gave his wife a high-five, Fugate said.
"Since this incident, he has constantly been surrounded by his friends and family," Fugate said. "We are optimistic for Nic's recovery."
The 30-year-old homicide suspect, James Tylka, was shot and killed during the incident.
The Washington County Major Crimes Unit is investigating what happened Sunday night.
