An Alaska Airlines flight that took off from the Portland International Airport Wednesday morning bound for Phoenix made an emergency landing after the plane lost cabin pressure.
According to officials with the airline, the Boeing 737 lost cabin pressure about 40 minutes into the flight.
The crew descended to 10,000 feet. That’s the altitude where planes can safely fly unpressurized.
The cause isn’t yet known. Airline officials said the aircraft will be taken out of service.
There were 144 passengers and five crew members on board. The plane landed safely back in Portland. No injuries have been reported.
