Sales

declined

from September to October in Portland, according to the Regional Multiple Listing Service. But it was busier than any of the last four Octobers. And Portland-area homes sat on the market an average of about six weeks — rather than over 10 weeks just two years ago.

One number that's not shrinking is Portland's median home price. It crested at a seven-year high over the summer — at nearly $375,000. Prices slipped at the end of the summer, but now they're climbing up again, according to RMLS.

Nick Krautter at Keller Williams Realty said buyers could be priced out of the market in the future, leading to slower sales in the coming months.

According to Krautter's analysis, sales in inner Portland dropped 17 percent from October to November.
