He's also looking for housing and a job and said people were "100 percent very kind and very knowledgeable."
Another veteran, Marvin Bridgeforth served in the early 1980s in Korea and Hawaii. He enjoyed a free sandwich while taking a break in his job search.
"They have jobs but the thing is, some of them are not the jobs that I really qualify for," he said. "So I’m sure they have something in there that fit my qualifications."

Companies as varied as Starbucks, UPS and US Bank were at the Stand Down event.
But veterans said one of the biggest draws was the sense of camaraderie.
