Portland was one of a handful of cities selected by the League of American Cities to take part in the Black Male Achievement (BMA) initiative. The BMA focuses on employment opportunities for African-American males, engaging young black men, and other equity issues. Representatives from six U.S. cities are meeting Thursday and Friday to brainstorm and share the progress they've made.
