Oregon Measure 114, the gun control measure, explained
Oct. 19, 2022 11:01 p.m.
Oregonians will vote on whether to create a new permitting system for gun purchases and ban magazines that can hold more than ten bullets. Before a person could buy a gun they would have to pass a new background check and a safety class, in addition to the currently required background check. Magazines and guns that can hold more than ten rounds of ammunition at a time would be prohibited as well, though current owners of such magazines could keep them.
