Life in Portland’s homeless camps during the coronavirus pandemic

Homeless camps in the Portland metro area have continued to grow during the coronavirus pandemic, as people who are homeless struggle to access shelters and other services that were available before. Raven Drake lived in homeless camps for several months during the pandemic. She is also the medical program coordinator providing medical services to people in homeless camps for JOIN. She joins us to talk about living outside during the pandemic and navigating the medical concerns of COVID-19.

Visitors crowd Crater Lake National Park, creating safety and environmental concerns

Tourists have been flocking to Crater Lake National Park in the past few months. Now that the county has been put back to baseline status, we talk with Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation’s Chuck Sams about how the community is responding to the ongoing pandemic and about the newly formed Intergovernmental Task Force.
