Many of the people evacuating their homes in Jackson County have found their way to the Expo Center. The center is providing some socially distanced indoor shelter, outside camping and car camping in the parking lot. People can also come to get help with filing insurance papers, getting a DMV ID, or getting a replacement phone. Helen Funk directs the Expo Center and is now serving as the fire incident public information officer. She says while there are smaller shelters, from churches to business parking lots, she hopes people will at least stop by the Expo to get food, water and the other help they can provide.
