In July, Portland-based dinner collective Black Feast started regularly distributing free desserts, care packages and love letters to Black Portlanders. Salimatu Amabebe, a creator of the “Love Letters to Black Folks” project, said it began as a way to support Black Lives Matter protesters. We talk with Amabebe about the ongoing project.
Editor’s note: We misgendered Salimatu Amabebe in the live broadcast of this segment. Amabebe’s pronouns are they and he.
