Tight race for the next mayor of Gresham

Stovall and Morales are neck-and-neck

The race for mayor of Gresham is a tight battle.

As of early Wednesday morning, Travis Stovall led Eddy Morales by 145 votes as counting continued.

Stovall currently has 16,218 votes to Morales' 16,073, giving each slightly more than 36 percent of the vote.

Morales sits on the Gresham City Council and serves as treasurer of the Democratic Party of Oregon.

Stovall is a small business owner and would be the first Black mayor of a city in the Portland metro area.
