THANKS TO OUR SPONSOR:

Students from six Portland-area high schools have created a vaccine finder. The tool can be accessed on any device that sends a text. The finder can search Oregon zip codes to find available appointments at pharmacies. Rye Scholin, a senior at St. Mary’s Academy cofounded the Portland Student Pandemic Response group a year ago. In that time, students have collaborated on a variety of projects, from mask-making to raising money and donations for the Community Transitions School for kids experiencing homelessness. The vaccine finder is the basis for another program that goes beyond finding a vaccination site. The program provides information on the vaccine: what it is, what to expect and how to follow up after getting the shot. We talk with cofounder Rye Scholin and Cole Songster, a service project coordinator with the group.
