Former Beaverton Mayor Denny Doyle was sentenced on Tuesday to six months in prison for one count of possessing child pornography.
He pleaded guilty to the charge last October. The 74-year-old has also been ordered to pay $22,000 in restitution to his victims.
Doyle served as Beaverton’s mayor from 2009 until he was defeated in the 2020 election. According to court documents, Doyle possessed hundreds of digital images of child pornography in 2014 and 2015.
Beaverton police found the images on a thumb drive, along with some of Doyle’s personal photos, in January last year.
According to the Oregonian/OregonLive, Doyle apologized to his victims and his family in court during sentencing.
