Police clear Hayward Field following potential bomb threat

The University of Oregon has completed a bomb threat investigation at Hayward Field and found nothing of concern, according to a press release from the university’s police department.

The University of Oregon police originally issued an alert at 1:39 p.m. on Tuesday, calling for an evacuation of Hayward Field.

The university said that UOPD and “partner agencies” were on the scene investigating. They said the investigation was expected to take “several hours.”

The venue is preparing to host the NCAA Track and Field championships starting Wednesday.
