Clark County Public Health officials say they now have 21 confirmed cases of measles and four suspected cases, and they’ve expanded the list of places where people may have been exposed.
Officials at Clark County Public Health said people may have been exposed to measles at the following locations:
- Vancouver Clinic Columbia Tech Center, 501 SE 172nd Ave., Vancouver from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11.
- Slavic Christian Academy, 7300 MacArthur Blvd., Vancouver on Monday, Jan. 7.
- Evergreen High School, 14300 NE 18th St., Vancouver on Wednesday, Jan. 9.
- GracePoint Christian Church, 7300 MacArthur Blvd., Vancouver from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7.
County officials have declared a public health emergency and are keeping an updated list of possible exposure sites here. The list includes the Friday, Jan. 11, Portland Trail Blazers game against the Charlotte Hornets at the Moda Center, which had a crowd of more than 19,000 people.
The bulk of the cases so far — 16 — involve people 10 years old or younger. In at least 18 cases, the person who contracted measles had not been immunized for it.
One person has been hospitalized.
Health officials say anyone who has been exposed and believes they are experiencing symptoms of measles should call their health care provider before visiting the doctor to ensure others are not exposed.
