Westbound traffic on the Hawthorne Bridge in Portland was closed temporarily due to an overturned truck Thursday morning, according to Multnomah County.
The box truck tipped over on the approach to the bridge, under the Interstate 5 overpass on the east side of the Willamette River.
Tow trucks were able to remove the truck and the bridge’s westbound traffic reopened before 9:30 a.m. Thursday.
Traffic was redirected to the Morrison Bridge in the meantime.
Traffic alert: Hawthorne Bridge is closed westbound due to an overturned box truck that tipped over on the westbound approach to the bridge, under the Interstate 5 overpass. The bridge is expected to be open westbound by 9:30 am. Alternate route until then is Morrison Bridge.
