In the years since their first co-release in 2005 (the EP “In the Reins”), Iron & Wine‘s Sam Beam and Calexico have moved in divergent ways. Though Beam departed from his austere songwriting on his warmest and most percussive album, “The Shepherd’s Dog,” his songs have seldom strayed far from an intimate, solitary introspection, while Calexico has dipped into a technicolor palette of sounds from the desert Southwest, with collaborators like Sergio Mendoza and border-crossing rhythms of cumbia and mariachi.
This year, Calexico and Iron & Wine released their newest release, “Years to Burn,” and their tour comes to Keller Auditorium August 23 at 8:00 p.m. Orville Peck opens the concert. We’re giving away tickets, and this is all it takes to enter:
