First Aid Kit — the Swedish band comprised of sisters Klara and Johanna Soderberg — made their latest album in Portland. After finding themselves at a creative crossroads in 2015, the duo spent two years apart and reunited in Portland last year to work with producer Tucker Martine. The resulting album, “Ruins,” keeps their sisterly harmonies front and center but with considerably more punch behind them, provided by new additions like guitarist Peter Buck. It also entered the #MeToo conversation with a forceful denunciation of sexual assault in the song, “You are the Problem Here,” which was released for International Women’s Day in 2017. Their most recent video is for the song “Rebel Heart.”
First Aid Kit will perform at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall on Wednesday, October 3 at 8 p.m. Julia Jacklin is the opener. It’s an all-ages concert.
