Win Tickets to NO, Reuben and the Dark, and The Darcys

Casey Bennet

A triple bill of Arts & Crafts labelmates NO, Reuben and the Dark, and The Darcys are coming to Mississippi Studios this Sunday, April 6th.

LA-based band NO is touring in support of their lauded debut, El Prado. The sextet create a sound that is intimate and personal but also bombastic enough to fill arenas. Because of this, NO have drawn favorable comparisons to The National, especially due to lead singer Bradley Carter’s vocal similarities to Matt Berninger’s deep, brooding growl. At their best, NO connect to the rhythm of life that is both raw and comforting.

a href=”” target=”_blank”>Reuben and the Dark first made waves for their performance at last year’s CMJ Music Marathon. They are already garnering high praise in advance of the release of their debut album, Funeral Sky. (out in late May)

The Darcys latest, Warring, is reminiscent of Arcade Fire’s Funeral in scope and ambition, putting them in very good company. At times unconventional and artistically nuanced, anxious and triumphant, The Darcys show a penchant for songs with great hooks that reveal new layers with each listen.

We are giving away tickets to catch these three exciting, up-and-coming bands this Sunday, April 6th at Mississippi Studios in Portland. The show starts at 9, doors at 8. This is a 21+ show.
