A Studio Session with Supergroup case/lang/veirs - 1:22
It's that rare bird, a truly super supergroup: alt-country firebrand Neko Case, world-class indie lyricist Laura Veirs and songstress supreme k.d. lang released a lush, soulful record last summer. They played their entire album, “case/lang/veirs,” in an exclusive opbmusic session.
This week, the concert will rebroadcast on OPB TV as part of "Oregon Lens" — a week-long showcase of works by independent Northwest filmmakers. Broadcast date is Tuesday, Aug. 29. You can also check out the session online.
Compiling 1,462 plots, "Plotto: The Master Book of All Plots" is a choose-your-own-adventure of encyclopedic proportions for struggling writers.

The Portland imprint Tin House has great literature and poetry offerings. It’s also the publisher of a most unusual how-to book. “Plotto: The Master Book of All Plots” was designed as an aid to writers, and it’s made up of 1,500 plot prompts in an encyclopedic list, sorted by categories like ‘Themes,’ ‘Master Plots’ and ‘Conflicts.’
Last fall, we collaborated with Tin House on a flash fiction contest celebrating the paperback reissue of the book. Tin House posted a plot prompt a week and gave writers six days to come up with stories inspired by each prompt. Finalists were selected. Then we called them up to record their stories. The stories were weird and wonderful, and this week we're bringing them all back for another listen. You can find recordings of the individual stories here.
