Delays For Pain Managment Alternatives For OHP Patients

Oregon has one of the highest rates of opioid addiction, and that's something that public health officials and the medical community would like very much to change. Many addicts initially become hooked on opioids when they are prescribed painkillers to treat chronic pain.

Earlier this year, the state's Health Evidence Review Board approved a change for Oregon Health Plan patients that would prioritize alternative therapies like acupuncture and chiropractic as of Jan. 1. But now it appears implementation has been delayed. We get reaction from one of the alternative proponents, Bend-based Dr. Stephen Mann.
