This year, Happy Valley is taking a different approach to handling illegal fireworks. The city has launched a "Fireworks Amnesty" program, where people can dispose of their illegal fireworks with "no questions asked."
For the sixth year in a row, the city has announced a zero-tolerance policy on the use and possession of illegal fireworks within city limits. Violators can receive $1000 citation.
We talk to Steve Campbell, director of public safety and organizer of the firework task force about the enforcement of this policy and how the amnesty program is working.
