Less that 10 years ago, a small group of civic minded voters created a new minor party and called it the Independent Party of Oregon. We've talked about the party's decision to open its primary and how its relatively rapid growth is affecting the political landscape.

We take up that conversation again, now that the state of Oregon has officially certified the group as a major party, joining Democrats and Republican on the statewide stage.

We'll ask how the motor voter law will affect the Independent Party, how many of non-affiliated voters may vote in the party's primary, and how else voters and the legislative process could be affected.
