Idaho ranks among the highest rates of youth suicide in the nation. In the northwest, suicide is the second-leading cause of death for young people ages 15-24. But in Idaho, the rate is 40 percent higher than Oregon and Washington. Judy Gabert heads Idaho's Suicide Prevention Action Network (SPAN).  She says despite the higher rates in her state and the Northwest, the incidents themselves are still a relatively rare occurrence. We talk to Gabert to find out what could be behind the high suicide rate, and what the state is doing to approach the problem.
