Sanctuary State

Opponents of Oregon's "sanctuary law" are collecting signatures to put the issue on the ballot, and feelings are already running high on both sides.

A new petitioning rule from Oregon Secretary of State Dennis Richardson aids a group seeking to overturn Oregon's status as a "sanctuary state."  

Oregon’s 'Sanctuary State' law has, for years, prohibited the use of state and local resources to enforce federal law, and many see the bill as an extension of that legacy.
