After four people were wounded in two separate shootings in Spokane last weekend, civic leaders are looking to Police Chief Craig Meidl for answers to the city’s apparent rise in gun violence.

A Spokane County Jail corrections officer shot and killed a woman in the lobby of the jail.

Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders will campaign in Vancouver, Seattle and Spokane on Sunday, March 20. His visit comes ahead of the Democratic caucus on March 26.
