Pandemic delays court proceedings

The COVID-19 pandemic has forced many Oregon courts to operate with reduced hours and hold many services remotely. In Lane County, that’s led to delays in hearings and trials, and overwhelming caseloads for public defenders. Tatiana Parafiniuk-Talesnick, a reporter for The Register-Guard, recently reported on the delays. And Brook Reinhard is the executive director for Public Defender Services of Lane County. They join us.
