New Seasons started giving its grocery store workers “Thank You” bonuses at the start of the pandemic in March. In June, New Seasons stopped distributing the extra pay to workers because they said it was no longer feasible for the company. Grocery store worker Tekiah Elzey recently created a petition asking New Seasons to reinstate the bonus pay because workers are still at risk of COVID-19. We hear from Elzey about the petition, and what it’s like working in a grocery store right now.
