Paramedics arrived and pronounced one of the victims dead at the crime scene, police said. Another was taken to a Portland hospital but did not survive his injuries. The third victim was also hospitalized but his injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.

Police did not locate a suspect and no arrests have been made as of Saturday morning. The victims were not identified by the bureau.

A homicide investigation is ongoing and no additional details are currently known.

The shooting comes after a deadly 2021 for Portland. By early December, the city had surpassed 80 homicides for the year, an all-time record and a dramatic increase over the 57 homicides in 2020.
