Shamir — “Reproductive”

THANKS TO OUR SPONSOR:

The emotionally stirring single “Reproductive” comes from Shamir Bailey’s full-length album, “Heterosexuality,” which was released last week. Shamir utilizes his impressive falsetto vocal register to create an amplified sense of vulnerability to an already confessional collection of lyrics. “I think this album is me finally acknowledging my trauma,” Shamir said of the record.

Aldous Harding — “Lawn”

New Zealand artist Aldous Harding returns with a new single called “Lawn.” The song comes from her new album “Warm Chris,” out March 25. Harding’s vocals breathe tranquility into an airy instrumental arrangement that’s propelled forward by steady, but gentle percussion. The songwriter also co-directed the beautiful video that accompanies the track. “This video is pretty luxurious for me, but that’s what I saw when I shut my eyes and said ‘Show me,’ that sort of thing. So that’s what we made,” Harding said.

Bonobo feat. Jamila Woods — “Tides”

British musician, producer and DJ Simon Green, known by the stage name Bonobo, just dropped a new album called “Fragments” which features the single “Tides.” Bonobo lays down a delicately constructed sonic runway for Chicago-based vocalist Jamila Woods to work with. And she certainly sticks the landing. “When I first heard Jamila’s vocal she had recorded I knew instantly I had a centrepiece for the album,” Bonobo said.
