4.4-magnitude earthquake shakes Linn County

People reported feeling the quake as far away as Longview, Washington.

A 4.4-magnitude earthquake shook Linn County just before 6 a.m. Friday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

People reported feeling the rumble in Portland, Salem and Bend, and as far away as Coos Bay and Longview, Washington.

The epicenter was in the Willamette National Forest, about 9 miles from the community of Lacomb, Oregon. The quake was about 8 miles deep.

As of 8 a.m. Friday, there had not been any reports of injuries or major damage.

The USGS reported the 4.4-magnitude quake was just below the threshold for cell phone alerts to be sent out via the ShakeAlert app.
