Students in at least five school districts in Oregon across the state had to evacuate their schools Monday due to bomb threats.
The districts included Central Linn, Cascade, Colton, Corbett and Arlington.
In written statements, the districts said they received suspicious emails, so they evacuated schools out of caution.
Local law enforcement agencies did not find bombs or other threatening devices at the schools. Some school districts, including Corbett and Arlington, issued statements saying students could return to classes Tuesday.
Investigators believe the threats are related and have requested assistance from the Federal Bureau of Investigation. In an email to OPB, the FBI office in Portland said it’s working with several schools to investigate the threats.
This is a developing story and will be updated.
