People living in Northern Oregon Cascades and the Upper Hood River Valley could see heavy snow through Monday.
The National Weather Service announced Saturday that it expects heavy snow to fall above 1,000 feet in Northern Oregon Cascades, with a total snow accumulation of six to 12 inches and wind speeds as high as 50 mph.
The federal agency also added that it could snow heavily on the Upper Hood River Valley above 1,000 feet, with a snow accumulation of three to seven inches and wind gusts as high as 45 mph.
The National Weather Service warns of extremely difficult traveling conditions in these two regions, when blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. It also cautions that the hazardous weather conditions could impact Monday morning commute within these regions.
“If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency,” the National Weather Service said in a written statement.
The agency said the winter storm warning for both regions will end Monday at 4 p.m.
