Tactical officers from Washington and Clackamas counties responded and negotiated with the man. But police say after several hours, he made an imminent threat toward his family.

A Clackamas deputy and a Beaverton officer shot the man. A woman and two children were safely removed from the house. The man later died.

Police have not publicly identified the man who was killed. The officers who shot him are on leave while a Clackamas County major crimes team investigates.

The deadly police shooting in Happy Valley is the second in two days in Oregon. On Sunday, a person suspected of a shooting in Lane County was killed by police in Linn County.
