St. Helens High School principal Katy Wagner has resigned from her position. According to district officials, Wagner officially resigned on April 18.
This comes months after Wagner was placed on paid administrative leave for her role in an ongoing sexual abuse scandal in the district.

Last November, police arrested St. Helens High School choir teacher Eric Stearns and retired math teacher Mark Collins for alleged sexual abuse against students.
Wagner and other school officials, including St. Helens Superintendent Scot Stockwell, were accused of failing to forward reports of sexual abuse to authorities.
Stockwell resigned on March 12.
St. Helens School District spokesperson Stacey Mendoza announced Wagner’s resignation in an email to students, staff and families in the district.
“The District will begin the search for a new principal and will notify the community as soon as the School Board has approved the hiring of the new principal,” Mendoza said.
Wagner is facing multiple charges, including criminal mistreatment.
