Officials in Multnomah County announced Tuesday they are investigating four deaths that may have been caused by recent extreme heat.
According to the county medical examiner’s office, the deaths all happened on Monday and included individuals between the ages of 47 and 82. Among them were two men and two women.
No other details have been released.
County officials say confirmation of what caused their deaths could take up to several months.
Officials say there have been 16 confirmed heat-related deaths in Multnomah County from 2022 to 2025. The county says they were mostly men who were older than 60 and had underlying conditions.
