Sukhjot Sal joined OPB's digital content team as a digital producer in 2023.
She enjoys uplifting local businesses and community members, focusing on the nitty-gritty of news writing and continuously learning how best to articulate the truth.
Previously, she reported for The Bulletin in Central Oregon, covering politics, crime, business and more through the AAJA-SPJ Emerging Northwest Journalists internship. She also briefly freelanced with Eater Portland.
She graduated from Oregon State University in 2023 with an honors bachelor of arts in English and writing. As editor-in-chief of OSU’s lifestyle magazine, Beaver’s Digest, she received a national Pacemaker from the Associated Collegiate Press. Before that, she reported and copy edited for OSU’s newspaper, The Daily Barometer, and received several regional and state awards for student journalism.
