January 14, 2024, digging out from winter storm
Tens of thousands of homes and businesses were without power in Oregon on Sunday, Jan. 14, 2024, in the aftermath of a storm that brought low temperatures and high winds to the state. Numerous homeowners also reported damage from downed trees. Multiple transit agencies across the region curtailed services, including Trimet, which canceled Max trains and put chains on the buses that remained in operation. Many people stayed home, leaving usually bustling neighborhoods still.
