Another 2 to 3 inches of rain are expected for the Willamette Valley through Tuesday evening and into Wednesday.

That’s on top of the 2 to 4 inches of rain that fell around the Portland metro area Monday.

The Pearson Airfield just outside downtown Vancouver, Washington, got nearly 3 inches of rain. Some places to the west of metropolitan Portland, like Hillsboro, got a little more than an inch and a half.

“We have several rivers right now that are at flood stage, several rivers that are forecast to go above flood stage and even more rivers that we’re kind of monitoring right now," said Will Ahue, with the National Weather Service in Portland.

The Tualatin and Clackamas Rivers are among those around the region that are forecast to crest above flood stage.

In Multnomah County, the American Red Cross has established a shelter at the Mt. Scott Community Center for residents whose homes have been flooded and those who have lost access to their homes because of the weather.

The warmer weather has pushed snow levels to 8,000 feet. But a cold front moving in tomorrow is expected to drop the region’s snow levels to around 3,000 feet.
