The fire, referred to as the North Santiam Park Fire, was first reported Tuesday afternoon. It began near the North Santiam State Recreation Area off Highway 22 and grew to an estimated 60 acres by late Tuesday evening. Crews have lined 80 percent of the fire, lifting all evacuation orders.

About 85 people are working on the fire.

On Tuesday, the fire jumped the Santiam River, causing it to burn in both Linn and Marion counties.

Level 3 "go now" evacuation orders were in place Tuesday for residents in Lyons and an evacuation center was set up at the Mari-Linn Elementary School.

It has not been determined what started the fire.

Countywide burn bans were issued for Marion, Clackamas and Linn counties Wednesday. Those burn bans are in effect until further notice.
