A sold-out event at Eugene’s Hult Center last Thursday, organized by the Junior League of Eugene, focused on human trafficking awareness and prevention, drawing over 150 attendees, including advocates for Missing and Murdered Indigenous People.

An allegation of human trafficking followed multiple 911 hang-up calls that came from a property suspected of hosting an illegal cannabis farm, as well as a from an unnamed source. Josephine County Sheriff Dave Daniel noted cartel-like characteristics at the farm.

We talk with Portland Mayor Charlie Hales, who just returned a summit with 60 mayors from around the world called by Pope Francis.
