Populations of burrowing owls are declining across North America. Biologist David Johnson has devoted 40 years to studying these little owls. The former Umatilla Chemical Depot is one of the last holds of the burrowing owl, thanks in large part to Johnson and the DIY burrows he builds for these increasingly rare birds.
