Live updates: Oregon reports lowest COVID-19 daily case count in 2 months

Oregon’s coronavirus numbers are flattening out, according to the most recent figures from the state health authority released Monday.

Statewide, the Oregon Health Authority reported 162 confirmed and presumptive cases — the lowest one-day total in more than two months.The additional case numbers brings Oregon’s total since the pandemic began to 26,713. The latest cases were again concentrated in familiar hot spots for coronavirus: Marion County, where there were 36 cases reported, and the area closest to Portland, with a total of 73 cases in Multnomah, Washington and Clackamas counties. Five of the 16 counties reporting new COVID-19 cases had only one case.

One more Oregonian has died of COVID-19: a 93-year-old man in Washington County who had underlying health conditions.

Clark County, Washington, reports no deaths Friday

Another 32 people tested positive for the novel coronavirus in Clark County, Washington, the local public health department reported Friday. To date, 2,534 residents of Clark County have tested positive for the virus and 49 have died.

Since the start of the pandemic, 73,879 people have been diagnosed with COVID-19 in Washington, and 1,905 have died, according to the latest count available from the state.
