In the last four months of Black Lives Matter protests across the country, Eastern Oregon organizers and activists have been holding marches and events for rural Oregonians. Last month, 200 people turned out for a march in Pendleton. Briana Spencer was one of the organizers of the march. She’s a Black, Puerto Rican woman who is also a member of the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation. Spencer says the movement in Pendleton is still going strong. We talk with her about Black Lives Matter and the changes she wants to see in Pendleton.
