On his first day in office, President Biden signed an executive order that will enforce federal laws that prohibit sex discrimination to include discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity. Advocates for transgender rights are particularly hopeful that this administration will reverse the policy impacts and the transphobic rhetoric of the previous administration.
