Oregon will soon have its first tribally owned and operated opioid treatment clinic. The Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde plans to open the Great Circle Recovery Opioid Treatment Program in Salem later this month. The facility will focus on a comprehensive and culturally specific approach, offering ceremonial sage burning and other spiritual practices along with medication-assisted treatments like suboxone and methadone.
We talk with Kelly Rowe, the health and wellness director for the tribes, about the vision for this project and future plans for tribally-focused health care.
