More than 2,500 zoo and aquarium professionals will gather in Portland this week for the annual Association of Zoos and Aquariums conference.
The nonprofit organization advocates for the advancement of zoos and aquariums and is the accrediting body for high standards of care for animals.
Dan Ashe is the president and CEO of the AZA. He joins us to discuss the role of zoos today and their future.
